Privacy

Flocklet has no accounts. It never asks for your name, email or anything else about you.
What stays on your device
Your browser keeps these in its own local storage, for this site only, so the game works between visits:
- each day’s progress: the answers you logged, your first finished result for that day, and how much of a round’s daylight you’d used, so a reload neither loses a sighting nor restarts the clock;
- your sound and wire-sound settings, and whether you’ve seen the how-to-play page;
- the date of your last visit, so the daily visit count below counts you once a day;
- when ads are on, your ad choice (see Advertising).
These stay until you clear this site’s data in your browser, which removes all of them. None of it leaves your device except as described below.
What the game sends us
- The day’s puzzle: your browser downloads it from us each day. Nothing about you is sent with the request.
- A visit count: once a day your browser adds one to that day’s tally of visitors. The request carries no identifier; the tally is a single number per day.
We don’t currently collect your answers, guesses or scores. The comparison with other players in your field journal is an estimate, not a ranking of real players, and says so. If we start collecting results to show real figures, we’ll update this page first.
Services we use
Like any website, these services receive your IP address and browser details when your browser contacts them:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the visit count, and protects it from attacks. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. See Google Fonts and privacy.
- jsDelivr supplies the open-source library (three.js) that draws the birds in flight. See jsDelivr’s privacy policy.
Advertising
Flocklet doesn’t show ads yet. When it does, to pay for itself, this is how they will work:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland we will ask for your consent, through a Google-certified consent tool, before ads use cookies, and you will be able to change your choice at any time from an “Ad choices” link at the foot of the game. Where you decline, ads may be limited or not shown.
Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We will list any other ad partners here before they serve ads.
Children
Flocklet is a general-audience game, not directed at children. It doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Your rights
We don’t hold anything tied to your name or contact details, so there is usually nothing of yours for us to find, correct or delete. What your browser stores, you can delete yourself by clearing this site’s data. If you think we hold something about you, write to us and we’ll help.
